As Synergy’s Managing Director and a business adviser, Angie spends most of her time working directly with clients on their business.

One of her greatest skills is strategic business thinking and planning. Angie looks at the whole picture (business goals, personal goals, current position) and works to get her clients thinking strategically about what they need to do to get from where they are now, to where they want to be. This isn’t just financial goals. She’s passionate about clients having a business that works for them and provides balance (whatever that balance looks like).

Everyone says they offer advice but rarely do due to fear. Angie doesn’t shy away from giving advice, and her enthusiasm to work with clients and help them achieve their goals means advice and strategy is what she does each and every day.

Before joining Synergy Accountants in 2010 and subsequently taking over as Director in 2019, Angie owned a successful accounting practice in Brisbane. She believes in the importance of passing on her knowledge to up-and-coming tax professionals through mentoring and presenting at Tax Institute Young Tax Professional Seminars.

Daniel has been providing specialised business and taxation advice to some of Toowoomba’s most successful small and medium-sized businesses since joining Synergy in 2007. 

As Director, Daniel serves as an integral part of the Synergy leadership team, responsible for developing creative, yet precise business solutions for every one of his valued clients.

Prior to Synergy, Daniel worked in London, during which time he developed a wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with asset valuation, tax optimisation, commercial lending and cost management. He now applies these skills to a wide variety of increasingly complex, yet simultaneously demanding projects across his client base.

Daniel’s experience both in Australia and overseas has exposed him to an array of clients across a broad range of industries. His diverse and unique skill-set has contributed to many client’s success stories over the years, making him an invaluable member of Synergy Accountants.

Since 2007, Kathy has played an integral role at Synergy Accountants, providing professional advice to a broad range of small and medium businesses in the areas of tax, business growth and improvement, asset protection, business structuring, and succession.

Kathy specialises in the preparation and submission of private ruling applications to the Australian Taxation Office and has extensive knowledge of the taxation consequences and opportunities associated with compensation arrangements in relation to mining and gas compensation agreements.

Kathy takes great pride in being part of an experienced team providing high-level advice to assist clients in making informed business decisions which leads to success. She takes the time to understand her clients’ goals and specific needs, working closely with them to clarify their business and personal goals, and identify a clear path to achieving these goals.

Ross has been providing quality professional advice to small and medium businesses within a broad range of industries since 2009 and became a welcome addition to the Synergy team in 2016.

His passion for guiding business owners through the challenges and identifying opportunities assists them with understanding and meeting their personal and financial goals.

Ross specialises in helping clients who are new to operating a business and really gets a kick out of helping them get their business started and growing it with them. He’s a firm believer in setting goals early and linking these with everyday tasks to achieve future success.

Working closely with Managing Director Angie Barnard has seen Ross assisting clients with workforce planning and processes, and setting business values, and gains great satisfaction from seeing the right people in the right positions and therefore reducing the business owner’s workload and stress.

Ross takes great pride in having a team that provides high-quality service and does everything to ensure that they exceed client expectations.
